Technology is helping small business owners to keep on top of their company while working from home or on holiday.

This is according to research conducted by Intuit, which revealed that 72 per cent of small business owners are not able to leave their work behind when they take time off. In fact, 14 per cent spend as much time or more working than relaxing when they are supposed to be taking a break.

Pernille Bruun-Jensen, managing director, Intuit UK, said, “Everybody needs to take time off now and then but our findings show that small business owners never switch off, even when they could really do with switching off.

“Rather than not taking a break at all, many of them are choosing to take their business away on holiday with them. Technological advancements have made this possible with many small business owners being able to run and manage their business anytime, anywhere," she added.

She added that the key thing in these cases is to ensure that work is done as efficiently as possible to create more time to spend relaxing by the pool.
