Business bosses aim for ‘more mobility’

Business bosses in the US are looking to increase the mobility of their workforce, according to a recent study.

Research commissioned by Mformation Technologies shows that a majority of high level management staff intend to invest more money over the next few years to make sure their staff can work from home or from outside the office.

Explaining the reasons, the research team point to more than 80 per cent of managers polled who suggested that increased workforce flexibility has translated into productivity gains.

Matt Bancroft, chief marketing officer at Mformation, said: "We’ve reached the point in the market where mobile business applications are tried and tested and now people are really starting to use them.

"With chief information officers reporting productivity increases of 20 per cent and higher, it is clear that companies can greatly benefit by taking better control of their mobility infrastructure."

Research by Cisco recently stressed the need for home-based employees to be managed effectively, according to a management-issues.com report.
